Summer is cranking along here in Newport, RI. We've had great weather, lots of visitors, and lots of buzz about our beer. We just sold out of Cyclone Series Quinn in record time and the last cases of Summer Ale are now on the shelves. It seems as though every week we are shipping beer to our wholesalers just before they run out of their current inventory. For you this means super fresh beer. For the brewers it means no margin for error. Although it's still August, the Oktoberfest has shipped and that means fall is right around the corner and an Oktoberfest celebration for all of us around here that have been so busy the last few months!
For me it's just been really exciting. More and more people are seeking out our beer and that's been fun to be around. Add to this all the people seeking out our rum across the country and it just means we've got to be on top of making all this stuff. My plans in the next few weeks are to get out and enjoy some Thomas Tew Mai Tai's and the first of the Oktoberfest draught with the last of the summer weather. Of course, for you this can all be taken care of at our 13th Annual Newport Storm Luau. This year's response has been ridiculous and it looks like we'll have 2,000 people at the Fort for the event. I can't wait to see what it's like. In the words of Spinal Tap guitarist Nigel Tufnel this luau "goes to eleven".
